Nexeed Track and Trace digitizes the supply chain

The supply chains of manufacturing companies and the associated requirements for logistics service providers are becoming increasingly complex. A large number of partners with an even larger number of different IT systems are involved in the processes. Logistics managers, logistics planners and material suppliers therefore need a solution that creates overall transparency regarding logistics processes that always takes into account the individual perspective of each user group.

Nexeed Track and Trace provides up-to-date information on the position and load status of load carriers, as well as truck trailers/semi-trailers, railroad cars and sea freight containers. Thanks to individual dashboards, each user group can see exactly what they need: logistics planners can trace routes in real time and make sure that load carriers and goods are in the right place at the right time. This maintains the flow of goods and provides for a high degree of planning reliability.

Material planners always know how many load carriers are in circulation. This not only ensures the supply of materials, but also avoids the use of unnecessary replacement packaging. Both inventory surpluses and shortages of load carriers at producers, suppliers, logistics service providers and customers can be quickly identified and eliminated. In addition, it is easier to understand the causes of any losses.

Logistics managers benefit from the overall transparency across all routes and load carriers. Thanks to individualized data preparation, they can see exactly where problems such as delays or increased losses occur most frequently. The derived measures can save costs and time across the entire logistics process.

The heart of the solution is the Nexeed Track and Trace software. It collects and harmonizes the information, prepares it visually and makes it available to the customer either web-based on end devices or via standard interfaces in his own IT system. Logistics specialists receive regular updates on the whereabouts of the tracked assets or deliveries, and upon request also on their condition. Routes can be tracked in real time and faults or delays can be detected immediately.

Asset Tracking

Asset Tracking

Whether it is lattice boxes (GLTs/SLTs), containers, railroad cars, trailers/semi-trailers or crates – logistic load carriers are often en route. Asset Tracking makes their position in the logistics network traceable at any time, and significantly reduces both manual effort and costs.

Logistics service providers and manufacturing companies alike benefit from the real-time tracking of their load carriers. IoT devices that are attached directly to the assets send regular updates to the cloud. Logistics specialists know about incidents and deviations at an early stage and can react much more flexibly.

Asset Tracking not only makes the entire logistics chain transparent, It also makes automated searching, booking and inventory tasks, as well as optimized fleet management possible. The availability of load carriers increases and losses are reduced to a minimum. The generated data also serves as the basis for efficiency-enhancing measures in the context of material flow planning.

Material Tracking

Material Tracking

In Material Tracking, the individual package is equipped with an IoT device and linked to the shipping information during the pairings. The sensor then transmits information to the gateways over brief time intervals. Depending on customer requirements, the data relevant for product quality, such as temperature, humidity and vibration, can also be communicated.

The gateways used can be attached directly to the transport vehicle as well as at relevant points in the material flow, such as at the incoming goods or outgoing goods points or in the warehouse. Geographical coordinates are added to this information, which is transmitted by the gateway to the cloud as high-resolution events.

The relevant information is available to the user either in the standalone solution, which is web-based on terminal devices in near real time, or can be made available to company IT systems, such as ERP or transport management systems, through standard interfaces.
