Data Categories Processed
Personal data concerning an identified or identifiable natural person, e.g. names, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, contract, booking, and billing data that determine a person's identity. We only collect, process, and use personal data (including IP addresses) when there is a legal basis for doing so, or you have given us your consent to do so, e.g. on registration.
Processing Purposes and Legal Basis
We and service providers working on our behalf process your personal data for the following purposes:
- Data taken from the contact form to contact you when replying to your inquiry.
- To send promotional material and information about Bosch Connected Industry and its software and service offerings and possible participation in Bosch Connected Industry market research projects via e-mail and letter post.
- To improve and optimize our website, we collect statistical information about the use of our online service. For this purpose, we use the web analysis tools described in this section.
– To safeguard and protect our rights.
Whenever you use the web, certain information is transmitted automatically by your web browser and saved by us in so-called log files. We save log files for a short time so that we can determine malfunctions and for security reasons (e.g. to analyze hacking attempts). Afterward, they are deleted. Log files, whose further storage is required for evidence purposes, are excluded from deletion until final clarification of each event and may be forwarded to investigating authorities in individual cases. Log files are also used for analysis purposes (without or without complete IP address), see the section Web Analysis for further details.
Log files save the following information in particular:

– Web address of the website from which our online service was accessed (so-called (referral URL);
– Name of the service provider via which access is made to our online service;
– Name of the files or information accessed;
– Date, time, and duration of access;
– Data volume transferred;
– Operating system and information on the web browser used, including the add-ons installed (e.g. for the Flash Player);

Disclosure of Data
Onward Transmission of Data to Other Responsible Third Parties
In principle, your personal data is only forwarded to other responsible third parties, provided this is required for the performance of contract, or we or the third party have/has a justified interest in forwarding the data, or we have received your consent to do so. Please refer to the section Processing Purposes and Legal Basis for details on the legal basis. A third party may also be other companies within the Bosch Group. Provided that data is transmitted to third parties on the basis of a justified interest, this is explained in this Privacy Statement.
In addition, data may be sent to responsible third parties, provided we are obliged to do so pursuant to legal regulations, or by enforceable administrative or judicial order.
Service Providers (General)
We commission external service providers with tasks such as programming and data hostings. We select these service providers carefully and monitor them regularly, in particular their responsible handling and protection of the data they store. We place all service providers under the obligation to comply with confidentiality and legal requirements. Service providers may also be other companies within the Bosch Group.
Disclosure to Recipients outside of the EEA
We may also disclose personal data to recipients whose headquarters are in so-called third countries outside of the EEA. In this case, we insure before forwarding data that the recipient possesses either a reasonable level of data protection (e.g. based on an adequacy decision of the EU Commission for the particular country, or the agreement of so-called EU standard contractual clauses of the European Union with the recipient), or we have your consent for disclosure.
Length of Storage; Retention Periods
Basically, we save your data for as long as it is required to answer your inquiry, or for as long as we have a justified interest in its further storage. In all other cases, we delete your personal data with the exception of data that we must continue to store in order to comply with legal obligations (e.g. we are obliged by tax law and commercial law to retain data, documents, e.g. contracts and invoices, for a specific retention period).

Overview of Cookies We Use
This section provides you with a list of cookies that we use.
Absolutely Necessary Cookies
Certain cookies are necessary so that we can provide our online service safely. This category includes the following, e.g.
– Cookies that identify or authenticate our users;
– Cookies that save certain user entries temporarily (e.g. content of a shopping basket or an online form);
– Cookies that save certain user preferences (e.g. search or language settings);
- Cookies that save data to insure the trouble-free play-back of video or audio contents.
We use analysis cookies to record user behavior (e.g. advertising banners clicked, subpages visited, search queries made) and to assess them in statistical form.
Tracking Cookies in combination with Social Plugins
Some pages of our online service have embedded contents and services from other providers (e.g. Facebook, Twitter) and they may use their own cookies and active components. We have no influence on the processing of personal data by these providers. For more information on social plugins, go to the section Social Plugins.
We require statistical information about the use of our online service in order to make it more user-friendly, conduct reach measurements, and run market-research surveys.
For this purpose, we use the web analysis tools described in this section.
The user profiles generated by these tools using analysis cookies, or by evaluating log files, are not compiled together with personal data. The tools either do not use user IP addresses at all, or abbreviate them immediately after collection.
The tool providers only process data as processors in accordance with our instructions and not for their own purposes.
Below, you will find information on how you can object to the collection and processing of data by the tool for each tool and each provider.
With tools that work with opt-out cookies, please note that the opt-out function is dependent on the device and browser, and basically applies only to the terminal device and the browser presently in use. If you use several terminal devices or browsers, you must set the opt-out on each terminal device and in each browser used.
WebTrends is provided by WebTrends Inc., 851 SW 6th Ave., Suite 1600, Portland Oregon 97206, U.S.A.
Google Analytics is provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, U.S.A. ("Google"). We use Google Analytics using the additional function offered by Google to anonymize IP addresses. As a rule, Google abbreviates the IP address within the EU and only in exceptions is the IP address abbreviated in the U.S.A. In any case, it is saved in abbreviated form.
Use of Social Plugins in Conjunction with Social Media
We use the so-called social plugins of various social networks in our online service; they are described individually in this section.
When plugins are used, your web browser sets up a direct connection to the servers of each social network. Each provider then receives the information that your web browser accessed a particular page on our online service, even if you have no user account with the provider, or you are not logged in to your account. Log files (including the IP address) are then transmitted by your web browser directly to a server of the relevant provider and may be saved there. The provider or his service may be located outside of the EU or the EEA (e.g. in the U.S.A.).
Plugins represent independent extensions of the providers of social networks. For this reason, we have no influence on the scope of data collected and saved by the plugins of the providers of social networks.
Please refer to the privacy statement of each social network for the purpose and scope of collection, the further processing and use of data by the social network, and your related rights and setting options to protect your privacy.
If you do not want the providers of social networks to receive data via this online service, or maybe save or re-use the data, do not use the plugins.
This online service uses the YouTube video platform which is operated by YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave. San Bruno, CA 94066, U.S.A. ("YouTube"). YouTube is a platform that allows the play-back of audio and video files.
When you access a particular page of our service, the embedded YouTube player sets up a connection to YouTube so that the video or audio file can be transmitted and played back. Data is then transmitted to YouTube as responsible third party. We are not responsible for the processing of this data by YouTube.
Please refer to the privacy statement of YouTube for further information on the scope and purpose of the data collected, on the further processing and use of data by YouTube, on your rights, and on the privacy options you can select.
Use of external links
Our online service may contain links to the websites of third parties who may be providers to which we are not linked. After you click the link, we have no further influence on the collection, processing, or use of any personal data transmitted to third parties by clicking the link (e.g. the IP address or the page URL on which the link is located), since the behavior of third parties is obviously beyond our control. We assume no responsibility for the processing of this kind of personal data by third parties.
Our employees and the service providers commissioned by us are sworn to secrecy and to compliance with the provisions of the applicable data protection laws.
We meet all the necessary technical and organizational measures to guarantee a reasonable level of protection and to protect your data that we manage, in particular from risks caused by unauthorized or unlawful destruction, manipulation, loss, change, or unauthorized disclosure, or unauthorized access. Our security measures are continuously improved to keep pace with technological development.
