Digital Twin System - Enable product lifecycle transparency

Digital twins are digital representatives of vehicles or machines as well as their components and parts. A digital twin is often created during product development and accompanies its physical counterpart throughout its life cycle. Depending on the company, thousands and thousands of digital twins are "born" every day. Bosch provides the Digital Twin Registry – a digital phone book in which millions of twins can be quickly identified and retrieved for their creation, assignment, storage, and deletion.

Each digital twin consists of several aspects. They group data such as faults, master data, or maintenance history. Each aspect is assigned an aspect model that defines the semantics and can be used for numerous use cases. Depending on the level of complexity of the data, the creation of aspect models requires knowledge and time. Therefore, the Aspect Model Catalog acts as a growing recipe book from which the appropriate aspect models can be downloaded and adapted as well as fed back into the community.
