As part of the Valuable Extensions, Direct Data Link is a powerful extension for optimum connectivity between the Nexeed Industrial Application System and the connected machines. Direct Data Link acts as a gateway to the Information Router and enables easy integration of all data packages. It supports common protocols such as OPC Classic, OPC UA and Siemens S7, as well as proprietary protocols. Even in the event of software malfunctions, production continues seamlessly thanks to asynchronous data buffering.

Direct Data Link is divided into four components that give users complete configuration freedom: as a connectivity and integration tool, the Direct Data Link basic service ensures the connection of a wide variety of machines. In the OSS configuration interface, users specify for each data source how Direct Data Link communicates with this station and which information is to be sent to the modules of the Nexeed Industrial Application System. ODMEth expands the Direct Data Link repertoire with additional protocols; it is configured using the Connectivity Configurator.
